Music: Luscious Trance

The music of Luscious Trance comes out of ceremonial
experience-vision questing, shamanic ritual, medicine circles, and group
chanting with the drum and rattle. Our music embodies our commitment to sacred ecology and planetary evolution. Most of the songs have
beencomposed by ourselves or our network of friends around the planet
who have "cried for a vision" and put their prayers and revelations into
songs and chants. Many of the songs have literally traveled around the
world and continue to surface at sacred gatherings and ritual circles.
Our goal has been to gather the best of these chants and songs and
record them with vocals that are rich, luscious, sexy, and soulful.
This New Tribal Music is rooted in indigenous tradition yet blends
and emerges ina fresh contemporary sound. We have created this music to deepen and enliven our communities and circles and to infuse sacred
space with sound that harmonizes with the natural environment and opens the heart. Beginning with "Changing Woman" our first collection of
chants featuring the vocals of three women, Adele Getty and Lou
Montgomery then recorded "Spiritual Healing", an extended chant
specifically designed to enhance healing work. Our most ambitions
project, "Luscious Trance" consists of eleven long songs for the planet
drawing from a variety of musical cultures that are an arrow to the
future for a sustainable world. An assembly of supporting artists
including Bruce Dunlap on guitar, Mark Clark on percussion, and native
Andean musicians add to the rich musical flavor of this recording.
What you can do with our music:
- Create a luscious healing space for movement, meditation, and hands on body work
- Learn and teach songs that inspire groups to sing and harmonize together
- Use the music for shamanic trance induction
- Enhance and deepen any group gathering-our lyrics evoke a collective planetary vision
- Lay back and listen or get up and dance!

Reviewed in Crosswinds, Santa Fe New Mexico:
"A disc of community dream songs has been birthed in northern New Mexico
this fall, featuring the lyrics and voices of Adele Getty and Lou
Montgomery, two long-time advocates of the power of song to celebrate
our caring, in both our joy and sorrow. This is spirit music, to be
listened to in quiet moments, and sung by circles of friends. Building
on the themes of environmental concerns and social activism that came
from the sixties, groups of people in every region have found niches for
effecting change and feeding hearts; such are the new tribes these songs
speak to.
On this disk, locals like storyteller Harold Littlebird and All-Species
Day founder Chris Wells find their prayer songs draped in the soft,
flowing tones of Getty and Montgomery's harmonies. Bruce Dunlap, Chris
Sherland, and Jeff Sussman are among those who join keyboardist and
arranger Bill Boaz in weaving the gentle yet strong aural web."
