An Experiential Workshop with Lou Montgomery Ph D
“THE DRAMA TO END THE DRAMA”

WHEN: Sat. March 18 10-5

WHERE: Beautiful West County home/retreat. Directions will be sent upon registration.

COST: $60

Lou Montgomery will facilitate a day long experiential workshop using psychodrama, theatre improvisation, and other interactive group techniques—the drama to end the drama! Most of the ways we are stuck in our lives, i.e. caught up in our life drama, have to do with playing roles that constrain rather than free us. We will discover how being identified with our “little” emotional story keeps us from participating in the Big Story of collective planetary liberation and expanded consciousness.

We will be exploring the myriad ways that limiting beliefs keep us over -identified with our personal drama and discover ways to unplug--freeing up spontaneity and personal and collective empowerment as we “act up and out”. Because of the positive interactive field created by using group action methods, the opportunity to release, shift and gain insight are greatly amplified.

WHAT WILL BE COVERED
• What is your personal drama, or limiting beliefs and how are you plugged in?
• Creating a new script for your life which connects heart, mind, and soul
• Dis-identification with the life drama through increasing awareness of the inner Witness
• Increasing spontaneity by enlarging one's role repertoire
• Embracing the Shadow and reconciling disowned parts of the psyche
• The healing power of play and humor
• Learning the difference between life's inevitable pain and unnecessary suffering

The workshop will focus on fostering spontaneity as a healing change agent. The perspective is one of allowing, nor forcing expression through a process of warming -up, action, working through, closure, and sharing. Exercises designed to illicit playfulness and increase one's role repertoire, are gentle, fun. non-confrontive, and safe. No one will be put on the spot. The emphasis will be on gaining insight and making the unconscious conscious NOT on performance per se.

Enactment of imaginary as-if scenarios are intended to provide relief from tension and to recapture a sense of hope and mastery. The scenes we enact might approximate real-life situations or can be externalizations of inner mental and emotional processes. Whatever has you plugged into your limiting Story--whether it be memories, unfinished situations, negative core beliefs, inner dramas, fantasies, etc.--thru guided processes and enactment you can release any negativity in the here-and-now.

We will also create enactments that focus on being free of our Drama, and what can be envisioned and seeded for future manifestations.

In addition to being a performer and writer of five original plays, Lou Montgomery has over twenty-five years of experience as a creative arts psychotherapist conducting classes and workshops internationally. She holds a Masters Degree in Theatre and a Ph D in Depth Psychology.
